Rasheal Charles Elected President

We are excited to announce that Rasheal Charles has been elected as the President of the Board of Directors of The Social Workers Association of Alberta. Rasheal brings with her a wealth of experience, dedication, and passion for advancing the profession of social work in Alberta.

Rasheal served as the Vice President of the Interim Board and her experience will help provide the stability, and leadership needed to move forward in advancing the goals of the association.

Rachelle Gladue, Diana Adamo and Krista Osborne continue to serve as SWAA’s Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary respectively. Cardinal Fomradas, Lateef Habib, Victoria Ige Onah, Mickey Ikuta, Young In Kim, and Selena Sliger remain on our board of directors.

The Board is committed to advancing the profession of social work in Alberta by promoting excellence in practice, supporting professional development and the advocating for the well-being of our members. Our goal is to create a platform for collective action towards justice, inclusion, reconciliation, decolonization, and anti-racism.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Rasheal Charles and we are excited to focus on the tasks ahead.
