Call for Member Voices: Strengthening Our Advocacy Work
Policy decisions are being made every day that impact social workers, our practice environments, and the communities we serve. Strong advocacy begins with informed, grounded, practice-based insight.
Are you passionate about advocacy and research in social work? We invite you to share your voice, and be actively involved in shaping the issues, positions, and research that inform our collective advocacy. Your experience, ideas, and perspectives help SWAA take meaningful action and shape the issues, policies, and initiatives that matter most to social workers and the communities they serve.
Ways to Get Involved:
Advocacy Requests: Bring forward issues that impact social workers, professional practice, or communities that you believe SWAA should take action on. You can indicate whether you:
Want to be actively involved and work with SWAA on the issue, or
Are requesting SWAA to take the lead in addressing the issue.
Advocacy Articles: Share your perspectives on policy changes, social justice initiatives, or community impact. We welcome articles, reflections, and thought pieces on key issues in social work, advocacy, and professional growth. Your contributions help spark meaningful dialogue, amplify diverse voices, and highlight the crucial role of social workers in advancing equity and meaningful change.
Research Highlights – Submit your findings and expert analysis to inform and inspire others, advancing knowledge and practice within the social work profession. By sharing your work, you help strengthen the profession, inspire fellow social workers, and build collective momentum for equity, justice, and meaningful change across Alberta.
