Strengthen your confidence and deepen your understanding through Counselling Adult Survivors of Sexual Violence, a 12-week online professional development course for counsellors, therapists, social workers, and other mental health practitioners.

Designed to complement graduate education, this integrative course explores evidence-informed theories, frameworks, and approaches that support work with adult survivors of sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse. Participants examine topics including trauma recovery, attachment, interpersonal neurobiology, mindfulness, cultural responsiveness, ethics, therapist presence, and practitioner self-care.

Developed by the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services in collaboration with Alberta's specialized sexual violence sector, the course combines current evidence with decades of specialized practice wisdom.
