Social Work Month 2026
March marks Social Work Month, a time each year to recognize the profession and reflect on the values, relationships, and commitments that guide social work practice across Alberta and beyond. This year’s theme invites us to reflect on how the profession continues to evolve in response to changing systems, community needs, and professional realities. It speaks to the importance of collective responsibility, professional connection, and values-based practice, while recognizing the need for adaptability and responsiveness within a shifting landscape.

As we approach Social Work Month, the theme offers a shared lens through which we can consider where social work has been, where it stands today, and how we move forward together, with intention and purpose.
