Social Work Month 2024

Celebrating Social Work Month in March

Here at The Social Workers Association of Alberta (SWAA), we are thrilled to celebrate Social Work Month throughout the month of March, culminating in Social Work Week from March 4th to March 10th. This year’s theme, “Social Work Practice: Grounded in shared values and ethics,” aligns with the Canadian Association of Social Workers' (CASW) overarching theme of “7 Points of Unity – Many Possibilities,” with a particular focus on the new code of ethics

Throughout the month, we have planned a series of engaging activities and events aimed at highlighting the invaluable contributions of social workers and promoting professional development within the field. We invite you to join us in celebrating this important occasion.

Activities:

  1. Recognition Form

    • We encourage you to submit a profile showcasing the breadth of work performed by social workers. We encourage you to share this opportunity with your networks! Let’s shine a spotlight on the diverse and impactful roles social workers play in our communities.

    • Presented by Jeannette Waegemakers-Schiff, PhD, and Lara Nixon, MD
