Arnica Foundation: Neuroscience Unlocked: A Transformative Comprehensive Clinical Framework for Trauma

  • Hotel Arts 119 12 Avenue Southwest Calgary, AB, T2R 0G8 Canada (map)

This workshop offers clinicians an integrative, neuroscience-informed framework for understanding and treating trauma. Participants will explore the neurobiological underpinnings of traumatic stress and the ways in which brain-based interventions can restore safety and connection.

Ruth Lanius, M.D., Ph.D

Emphasis will be placed on stabilization strategies, such Finding Solid Ground to support clients in achieving gravitational security and a sense of present-moment safety. Parts work will be introduced to help clinicians conceptualize internal experience through a compassionate, integrative lens, identifying protective and wounded parts as key to establishing internal safety and coherence.

Building upon this foundation, trauma processing approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) will be presented as powerful methods for resolving traumatic memories at their neurophysiological roots.

Through a blend of theory, experiential practice, and clinical application, attendees will gain practical tools and a cohesive framework, integrating neuroscience, parts work, and integrative bottom-up and top-down approaches, to enhance trauma treatment outcomes.
